Must Read Of The Month: March 2017
If you have not yet read Brene’ Brown’s books, I highly recommend her body of work as a game changer. She is a psychologist, social worker and researcher who spent years studying shame. This book, with the subtitle of “Let Go of Who You Think You’re Supposed to Be and Embrace Who You Are,” outlines the ten things that get in the way of us living wholeheartedly. One of the things I loved about it, is the realization that we all experience some level of “shame,” which she defines as “the intensely painful feeling or experience of believing that we are flawed and therefore unworthy of love and belonging.” Fortunately, she doesn’t leave us in the muck and instead provides simple steps on how to create “shame resilience.” She has a great TED talk if you prefer the short scoop!
